New Jersey Attorneys Join the IBEW

Thought it would be interesting to show everyone at MCC who else feels the right to organize is a very valuable right.

It is also very interesting to note that more and more workers in ALL fields are choosing the IBEW - the right choice.

All workers who work for a paycheck to support a family need to be organized to have a voice. The alternative is too open ended.

You guys saw the value of being organized and you are now close to getting your first contract in place. A contract you can build on for years to come.

Stay Strong, Stay solid.

Must be the commie again. It is not "bull" that educated individuals such as attorneys have also decided to choose the IBEW represent them. I know we made the right choice and I am proud that we chose IBEW 363. 4:27 is just a weak fart in the wind in the big picture. Sam lets move forward without him please. Keep up the hard work 363 and our reps, we are behind you.

  4. I know that I have trusted the IBEW 363 and they have helped me straighten out a problem that 2 yrs ago I would have been screwed. Thanks Sam for being there for all of us.

  5. Money talks are still a month away. A lot of bs can happen in 30 days. We need to show what we are worth. Get the plant running and ignore the bs. They are trying to confuse the issues and make us question whether we are worth a decent raise. There should never be any question about what we are worth and how we should be compensated. Did we ever get an answer on the 3% or bust buttons? I would display one proudly.

  6. I need a raise urgently. My taxes went up,my gas went up, my medical bills went up, the company's profits went up, my blood pressure went up, my waist line went up,my hairline went up,my food budget went up,my bar bill went up, the only thing that aint up is my _ _ _ _. I need MORE MONEY!

  7. Im in the same boat Mo! But my income is down,my bank account is down,my credit score is down, my car is down, my dog is down,my family is down,my lawnmower is down,my _ _ _ _ is down.I need MORE MONEY TOO!

  8. You guys are killen me. This company has lost the ability to get the most from people. totally lost.

  9. We have an opportunity here guys. All of us.

The company included: We need to fix the morale and the production in the plant ALL AT THE SAME TIME. It can be done and we both hold the key to each others lock.

If things work out the way IBEW Local 363 wants it will ALL HAPPEN AND MORE.

Our hope is that at the conclusion of the negotiations, the people are compensated to their satisfaction and we can move forward - without the "worry" on the plate - and we can ALL work hard and TOGETHER to make our plant in Newburgh what it should be - the best can making facility they have.

I truly believe that the ball is in the court of the company on this one and I believe they see the win-win here of the start of a good contract and a good relationship with the workers and their union - IBEW Local 363.

    Stay strong, Stay solid

  10. Have to say that tonight's presentation was less than inspiring....all we're really being told is to make the best of a bad situation...

And by the way, managers...communication STARTS with listening...whether you like what's being said or not!

  13. Sam I agree with you. Time after time people have approached me with their concerns about the contract. They want to know if they are going to get a raise. Are they going to have something in their pension.
We have been busting our asses trying to get this place running again, trying to keep our eyes on quality, train our new managers, make sure we do our p.ms., troubleshoot all the problems, tolerate eachother, continue learning new corporate language, wondering what will be thrown at us next, figure out how to fix the poor survey results from the fall of 2010,calculate how we are going to pay the bills at home, how to come up with money to pay for college, how much it take to fill our gas tanks for the week. Oh yeah I forgot. Last but not least. Pull the dam bin tickets for the storeroom. If anything the company can do is take away the doubt. Remove the certainty for all of us. They need to give us confidence and drive. We need to know we are a team again. Give us a Dam good raise to show us they are willing to invest in us.Fix what was wrong. Make it right.

  16. But that is what brito wants he wants uncertainty and he wants a better beer in a third world country.

  17. I dont believe that. The brewery workers contract is coming up. They are watching how this company is going to treat its hourly workers. What makes sense is to be fair and give a respectable increase to keep this company a leader in quality and efficiency. Why would they risk demotivating an entire work force. The company and its management team has enjoyed good increases in profits and bonuses. The only logical step would be a respectable increase.

    ReplyDelete
  18. What do you consider a reasonable increase? I say nothing short of 3% first year, 2% or more each year after.

    ReplyDelete
  19. i heard we will not even try for 3% and we will be happy with 1 or 2. I say forgetabout it 1% for union dues so we break even for what? the union is like a late night infomercial they grab u when your tired

  20. I think everyone on the floor is doing a great job and so are the new managers. there trying to patch up the mistakes that the front office has been making. good luck there fella's.

Oh i have to ask this how did everyone like being threatened by dave lehman. In case you didn't here it. it went something like this.

if you guys don't keep the plant running good, the company might not put capital into the newburgh plant.
WOW. NOW THAT IS A REAL MOTIVATOR THERE I TELL YA..
THAT RIGHT THERE IS A REAL PEOPLE PERSON....
THAT'S WHAT WE USED TO HAVE REPRESENTING US.
For the few who are still no's you have to start to listen to the words that come out of there mouths and ask yourself why you would want to have someone like him (dave) representing us instead of you representing yourself with Sam and IBEW backing you - The people?

  21. truth hurts. man up and do your job

    ReplyDelete
  22. It comes down to this. Only this. Not money, not pension, not medical benefits, not policies, not rules. Do you trust the people that run the company. Do you believe they actually care what happens to you. In collective bargaining, we are the union. We have a voice and we care what happens to us the employees. We will never be the ones to ask for less money, pension,or medical benefits. We only want what the consensus of the people want. We only want to make sure we are being treated fairly and that the consensus voice has been heard. Do we trust ourselves or the management? 1%,2%,3%, or twenty% it doesnt matter if you have no voice. It doesnt matter when they yank anything away at anytime. Thats what has happened time after time. Its proof and the truth. Management cant do it if you have a contract. We have lost so much before we came together. Lets stop the bleeding. Lets finish this contract and move forward

  23. I agree 1000%. hello fellow 363 members. how is your INDEPENDENCE DAY GOING.

    ( INDEPENDENCE ) DAY.

HAPPY 4TH OF JULY. TO SAM AND THE IBEW PEOPLE.

  25. Go 363 Go IBEW

    Happy Fourth to all

    ReplyDelete
  26. Happy 4th to all!! For those who think it's not about the increase and benefits, wake up! The management issues have always been there and none of us are truly oppressed. Like 11:14 said, man up and do the job. The brotherhood is great and it's nice to have a voice, but I'm in this job so I can pay for my real life. It's the same for all of us so don't downplay the importance of the money. 1% or 2% would not be enough for the wait. You are right that the company makes the offer, but we make the demand. We need to know that is happening later this month. I love the power of a guarantee but if we are guaranteed less than what it would have been it's not enough.
    Have a safe holiday 363!

    ReplyDelete
  27. That's a great question on the end that you have to ask yourself again.
( but if we are guaranteed less than what it would have been it's not enough). what do you think you would have had or been given?
I THINK WE ALREADY KNOW THE ANSWER TO THAT ALREADY.

    I know this so far.
1).Everyone at the plant even the (NO's) have had representation and some direction through there stewards and Sam.
2).No increase in medical coverage for a year already.

I here what your saying, but to agree with that lame statement @ 11.14 is (sorry) but another lame statement especially when a team member brings up a THREAT FROM A MANAGERS SPEECH. WHAT DOES THAT HAVE TO DO WITH (MANNING UP DOING THE JOB)?
I SEE LOTS AND LOTS OF TEAM MEMBERS (MANNING UP AND DOING THE JOB)

I SEE LOTS OF PEOPLE DOING THERE JOB AT THE PLANT DOESN'T MEAN WHEN IT RUNS BAD THAT YOU HAVE TO THREATEN YOUR EMPLOYEES TO MAKE THE PLANT RUN BETTER.
HOW ABOUT THE MANAGERS (MAN UP) AND MAKE SOME EXECUTIVE DECISIONS AND GET SOME HELP THROUGH FLOATERS OR EXTRA STAFFING WHEN A LINE IS TANKED FOR SEVERAL MONTH.

But i absolutely agree with the beginning about wages/benefits and the management issues and far from being oppressed.
THE WAGES AND BENEFITS IS WHY WE ALL GO TO WORK EVERYDAY NOT WEATHER THE COMPANY OR MANAGERS ARE HONEST AND TRUST WORTHY.

  28. 2:21, your right. It wasn't meant to make it seem like we aren't doing the job. I just dont want to under estimate the power of the $ inthis contract. Some of the posters are trying to make it sound that it's ok to get less as long as we are unified. That doesn't sit well with all of us. And I'm a yes. Happy 4th of July!

    ReplyDelete
  29. 3% the first year, retroactive to April 1st or I will vote yes for decertification.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Let me remind you again oppressed we are not! Think of if you owned a company and there were two people one doing thier job and the other performing substandard work which one would you be upset with? I see alot of crying and whinning. I;m working with a bunch of cry babies who are power hungry but have no concept on how to run a buisness.

    ReplyDelete
  31. 4:21 its unbelievable you make statements like that. Go ahead and see what a decertification brings you. Then you will be the first to cry

    ReplyDelete
  32. 4:21You are out of your mind. Do you really want to go back to the old days .You really want no protection from this management team that doesn't give a shit about you.Think about all the things that have happened. There's at least two maybe three times in the last year where someone would have had to write a stupid letter to keep their job or better yet been fired if it wasn't for LOCAL 363.Think about that for awhile and get back to me.

    ReplyDelete
  33. sorry 4:21 but 2% increase is not going to cut it for me. anything less than 3% and $2.00/pension is a strong NO. I do my job and have never been threatened by management.

    ReplyDelete
  34. I think you were addressing 6:49. I'm glad to hear that people aren't going to vote yes for a contract just for the sake of having a contract. Where's the beef?! 3% or bust!

    ReplyDelete
  35. Just askin' and just sayin''July 4, 2011 at 8:06 PM

The question is to 4:21 11:15 11:38 will you vote no, get rid of the union and then stand and fight for the 3% and the 2.00 pension we didn't get? (If that happens)

How will YOU do what the union is doing, negotiate for our future? Big mouthing is one thing but make some sense. You want 3% come to the hotel and show it. That's where you can display your big balls. Otherwise, you are just blowing smoke and have no real answers. Come get in the game. So I am in. Let's fight for 3 %. Let's get our asses to the hotel and let the company know we all mean business.4:21 11:15 11:38 I'm calling you out. Picking at the union that is saving our asses is assinine.Instead of being detrimental to the cause and jinxing our dam raises by being a jack wipe, try supporting the union and your reps and your co-workers.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Thanks 8:06. Let's get everyone to the hotel and let em know what we want. I think what I hear from many in thr plant is we want to cover the 1% that we will pay in dues and then get the 2% the other plants got earlier in the year. We need to catch up. The only reason we havent increasd medical contributions yet is because we havent signed anything. It will be the same as all union plants. So the union hasnt resally saved it for us, its just a delay to the inevitable. It's okay to expect the 3%, just don't take your brothers down in the process. If it doesn't go, them we can decide as a group what we want to do. But let's at least give our hard working reps a chance to get it and support them. I am a yes and will continue to be a yes, but it's okay to have expectations and to look to our representation to represent us.

A pay raise would be nice, and I think well earned and deserved. An increase in pension would be nice, and show that the company is truly concerned about our future. No increase in benefit costs would be nice, as our benefits have already been gutted and out of pocket costs have gone through the ceiling. You know what I want? A contract. A foundation to build on. A document that protects us from the unfair treatment that has plagued this plant from the begining. I want a contract so that everyone knows the rules. Rules that are consistent and not up for how our PM is feeling that day. I know having the IBEW representing us has already protected a number of the workers here. I know having the IBEW represent us has already stopped the some aspects of the "Brito and Manager Relief Fund". As I said, increases would be nice. I'd be happy this year with a strong contract and to lose no more. Thanks IBEW for protecting us from the Brito and Manager greed.

Think about it folks, got to get focused, the contract is the important thing. A foundation to build on in years to come.

    Thanks Sam & Steve.
