We want real communication from you management ,not a run around! Once again you show your lack of respect for ALL THE WORKERS at the plant. This whole shut down thing was a joke. You claim you did'nt know how many people would stay ,but U know yesterday what you needed. What happened is going to have a longing affect on you going forward. You always claim you want good communication but you always FUCK IT UP . All you had to do was tell us the truth from the begining, what you needed and you could'nt do that .Can you at some point STOP lying to us .
ReplyDeleteDONE TALKING...The management team at our facility never listened and never will. You never ever looked past your own noses to see how any decisions you made affected your great work force. That includes you Mr. Ranjive Bhalla. You all took advantage of us all these years. You might say that there're team members that don't pull their weight. What did you ever do as management to curtail any of that.
ReplyDeleteTo the IBEW. Thanks for listening and giving us a chance to voice our own concerns and get us a fair contract. Just this blog was a huge positive to us as we at least got to vent without watching our backs. The time has come to stop talking and get this contract. I believe the rest will take care of itself.
nice way to show your true colors again front office. way to think about the workers that keep YOUR SALARIES GOING. well for the ones that are still NO'S HERE'S AN EXAMPLE OF YOUR FUTURE WITHOUT A CONTRACT TO EXPLICITLY SAY WHAT WOULD HAVE WENT DOWN AND WHAT WOULDN'T HAVE HAPPENED.
ReplyDeleteHERE'S WHY YOUR 3% ISN'T THE ONLY PRIORITY TO WORRY ABOUT.
AS IT IS NOW YOU CAN BE SENT HOME AT ANY TIME WITH OUT PAY.
HOW YOU LIKE THAT 3%?
THIS IS YOURS\OUR FUTURE WITH OUT A WRITTEN CONTRACT.
I MEAN REALLY GUYS. DID YOU NOT SEE ALL OF THE DANCING AROUND THE MANAGERS DID YESTERDAY.
SOME OF YOU REALLY HAVE TO WAKE UP A BIT AND STOP BEING AFRAID OF CHANGE. AT LEAST IT'S YOUR\OUR CHANGE AND NOT THERE'S
I can really see why we need that dam contract now. WTF? We are not even in the thought process when it comes to this place. Is there a system or isn't there? Is it written down someplace? ha ha ha Well its gonna be soon.
ReplyDeleteAs for you few NO vote whining malcontents, this is what YOU want for the rest of your life? With everything? YOu need IBEW 363 tatted on your dam forhead so we know who you are! Get with it!
Need a new section in that contract now to fix what happened yesterday! Wasn't enough to have people volunteer to go home without pay, the company made a business decision to force a few others as well! Makes me worried about my future here if decision are going to be made like that from now on. Glad we have a union now to back us up and listen to what we have to say.
ReplyDeleteYesterday I surprised my wife and kids by coming home at 2 o'clock, next week I'm gonna surprise the cable company and electric company with a bounced check!!
ReplyDeleteBut did the sorter crew go home? Did they bump people on the floor? What the hell did happen....I was off
ReplyDeleteIs that considered a layoff?
ReplyDeleteDid they notify the union of this act? If so what happened Sam? If they didn't...what a way to start off with communication....somehow I think Superman had some say in this move.
ReplyDeleteWhat actually happened.
ReplyDeleteDetails.
Lets get the no voters to resolve this no contract issue for us. Come on guys, what do we do? Tell us. make believe we kicked Sam out. What do we do now? Enlighten us.
ReplyDeleteDon't blame Jason he as his own problems it's that f..ken front office sitting on there ass making wrong decisions day after day. They are still pissed off they are hoping that everyone will sign a after david to kick the union out.
ReplyDeleteKeep your eyes open Sam.Can we put this in our contract about shut downs. This is bull shit I have a family to feed while they are saving money on electic what a joke.
We need IBEW more then ever !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDelete10:33, um- after david? I don't think I'm going to sign one of those. How come everyone thinks it's just the no vote that want the 3%? I want it all. Security, a voice in my future, and a big fat reward for my hard work. Let's stop separating the team and come together.
ReplyDeleteIntelligent group of people you have. after david?
ReplyDelete12:02 , the difference is the ones who ony see the 3 % I want it too but I also want a contract. They are just as wrong with their 3 or we get rid of the union. How stupid can soem be especially after yesterday?
ReplyDeleteWell, yesterday's events certainly were informative. INTERESTING that when this whole eneroc shutdown thing was brought up, management neglected the little detail about sending people home involuntarily without pay. That's sure to help your engagement scores, boys! Honestly, it is SHAMEFUL that these managers who claim to care about us can do this kind of thing. Dan, your credibility is at less than zero after this 'business decision' and as for engagement, I frankly don't give a damn about the future of a company that treats it's people this way.
ReplyDeleteI guess this really demonstrates INBEV's 'third world business model'...the employees stand at the gate, hopeful of being let in to work for a day, and the bosses decide how many and which ones are chosen...good old fashioned colonial, patronizing bullshit. We should be grateful to make less because you're acting in our best interests, right? This is your communication problem, boys- you're trying to sell a lie to a bunch of workers who aren't dumb enough to buy it.
Sam, is this a partial lock-out.
ReplyDeleteThere's always work to do especially since management has gutted the work force.
Cleaning, painting, organizing, let us not forget 5S, the workplace is a dangerous pig-sty.
Here was an opportuinity "To get to the next level", and management let it pass.
you guys got what you wanted. shame on you for thinking sammy could bail you out hes an infomercial that went bad. I left and had a few beers and celebrated the morons that voted yes
ReplyDeleteDon't you get it? Management just got to the next level by saving labor dollars along with utility costs.
ReplyDeleteSam-----Whats up? You seem to be quiet today? Where are you? Can we get paid if we left early? What are our rights? Sam--we need your guidance....
ReplyDeleteYou can't be paid for that. You have no contract or one that addresses that issue. (yet) What do you have written down now that says anything about what happens when they send you home? Nothing.
ReplyDeleteAnd obviuosly some people like it like that....
very interesting to read.
Our contract will address this issue when we have one unless you guys decide you don't want to have one.
I'm betting you will have one and the issue will be resolved.
So get behind the wagon and push boys.
Or you can go have a beer with the know it all above and plot to screw yourselves.
It sounded like a partial lockout to me!!! Let's get rid of the lockout / no strike clause in the future contract. It's obvious that the management team has no problem taking away normal work hours that everyone depends on. But it's OK SCHEDULING OT hours for last minute cleaning for tours, sorting, scrapping.
ReplyDeleteSo 2:22....What do we do now? Since your in the party mood lets get together and fix this stuff up so we can eliminate this union you say has failed us. We surely could use your expertise so this doesn't happen again. What bar and what time?
ReplyDeleteNo contract ....no rules 2:22 don't you get it? Just the way you like it right? This gives you the open door you like to wheel and deal your own rules. Can't argue with you it's worked so far.
ReplyDeleteSam--I am behind the wagon. I turn around and see a bunch of men and women pushing also. we are all working together..Just trying to figure things out. Sam, how come you have not been at the plant lately?
ReplyDeleteSam---Do you still have the Gavil? Now might be the time. Don't be afraid. It's time Sam..
ReplyDeleteSam?
ReplyDeleteI'm behind the wagon ..... Pushin' forward. Time for an addition to the contract. Thank goodness it's a living document, much like our Constitution. Time to add, either we're paid for the time that management releases us, or we don't have to come back.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure the managers got paid for the whole day, greedy and privileged people are they not?
You are on the right track 8:00 PM - that is the best thing abut the contract - it breathes and it moves with you and the times. You have a way to fix things forever.
ReplyDelete5:45 pm - I am sure you and many others are pushing - I feel somebody back there...lol
But some are pulling the other way on ya'
We have a great built-in time and place to meet already. At the hotel during negotiation week - how about that - would that work or sound like a good idea? We could meet at 6 pm.
after a session or you guys could come during the day. That would probably work best right now.
I really hope we get a MASSIVE turnout for our meetings. We have to show our support. It is easier to push down hill...Set it up Sammy...
ReplyDeleteGetting back to the questions posed on today's post: A fair and equitable wage increase, more money in the pension, daily rules to live by other than Inbev's 10 commandments. Security.
ReplyDeleteSome things I think upper management should realize (not local management)is we've finally seen through "THE BIG LIE". "You didn't get a raise so we can make the other plants more equal" Right. What I would like to see from management is the end to such bonehead maneuvers as the power shut down without a personnel plan in place. Drawing names out of a hat to see who stays, who goes. Why did anyone have to go at all. What do you think is going to happen when the first snow flake hits the ground? Management just made a precedent "policy" by not thinking their big energy savings plan through. It also shows their "high regard" for their employees who were screwed out of half a days pay.
What do I think about the plant in general? We, the team members know our jobs, some far better than their area mangers who call the shots. There is a general belief that the other side of the double doors, for all their noise to the contrary, are clueless. If you ignore the "problem" (read union) maybe it will go away. but it is this kind of mindset that brought about our successful union vote.
Stooping to another level, Hey! 2:22, Blow it out your ass. It's your contract too!! When your management "friends" want some of your skin you'll be singing a different tune. You know why? Nobody's perfect and you will step on the crank with baseball spikes on and we'll be here to hand you iodine, a tetanus shot, band aids and help you deal with your write up. Smarten Up. Help us help you.
Just one question bothers me: Why would management do such a dumb thing to the employees they are trying to sway to their mindset at thing stage of the contract negotiation. Definitely not a win-win action on their part.
Cause management still thinks there's areas of gray just like before, was happy to see d crew make more good pallets yesterday than today on half the time , maybe management will realize that so called business decision was the wrong one. And they need a new spokes person, Dave is not as good of a liar as he think he is. HoPefully we can put up the same kind of numbers tonight.
ReplyDeleteWe need IBEW people the writing is on the wall wake up, and the survey you get a big fat zero for that.Management at MCC Newburgh suck the only ones that they should keep are John D CREW Kevin C crew and Matt S A crew the rest need to be replaced Morgan and Carrie also are a plus for MCC Newburgh.
ReplyDeleteI've got a question.....did they at least send the temps home first?
ReplyDeleteSam, before I get behind the wagon......what's in the fucking wagon? Too many secrets.
ReplyDelete7:01 "BEFORE you get behind the wagon??"
ReplyDeleteDon't do anyone any favors. So really, you haven't pushed at all in a year. Even though your co-workers were asking for help? Says alot about ya. You let everybody else do the work and THEN you decide if they did good enough?
Ha ha ha funny
But the good news is there are MANY who have been pushing for that whole year. You just run your mouth while you run on the sides next to that wagon and jump in nice and safe when the players get it all good for ya. Just hope they don't speed that wagon up on ya and laugh.
Thats the secret. Try helping instead of being a load and a wise-ass. When you see me, we can talk about it.
I have a question....what will be negotiated regarding the shutdowns for Enernoc? I think I already know the answer. The company will exercise their management clause and we will still be sent home. Same number of people, but by classification and then by seniority. That's the only difference. It won't be random volunteers. They will tell us who MUST stay and who MUST leave. If you think a contract will make these shutdowns go away, you're nuts. It won't happen. They are making too much money for Inbev doing it this way.
ReplyDeleteWhat would You like negotiated in regard to it? What would you like?
ReplyDeleteIt looks like he just wants us to take what they give and not even try to negotiate to me. That is just foolish. We need to negotaite something so we will all know what happens and how. That is what we need. These team members with the negative attitudes have to either shut up or come up with a better solution. Get us a contract 363.
ReplyDeleteSam--What about the Gavil?
ReplyDelete9:46- as has already been noted, there are plenty of opportunities to improve the plant through housekeeping and maintenance chores which generally can't get done due to short staffing, or that can't be done on the run. We should be able to negotiate an agreement which allows most if not all to stay and do this work, and an agreement which keeps anyone from bearing too much of the economic hardship, i.e. not sending the same people or the same crew home all the time. That's the minimum, to me.
ReplyDeleteWho keeps asking Sam to swing the gavel? This isn't court. I think we are fragmented more now than we have been in a long time. Let's get our shit together people. We are so close to getting something we have wanted in Newburgh for a long time. Let's close it up and not keep adding things to negotiate. The longer this drags on, the more we will have people simply lose interest. That's human nature. Stay strong people, but push for closure.
ReplyDelete11:11- that's just fucked up. If it takes 2 years to get it right then thats what it takes. At least it will be right.
ReplyDeleteLet me say this, so we don't go off track here.
ReplyDeleteWe should be done negotiating here very shortly.
The finish line is approaching and we will be able to move on and vote on the contract real soon.
Then you guys can see it, hear it and hopefully, you will also THINK about it.
We have many issues covered in it already and like the prior poster stated, this is a living document that we will be able to adjust as time goes by.
There is really nothing to argue about. Unless you just want to argue - than you can always come up with something.
So the FACT IS we are in good shape. My plan is to discuss the shutdown issue at the table and try to resolve it in a way that makes sense to both parties.
Come to the hotel in August when we negotiate and show your support - that is the best thing you can do to help us and support your interests and your own cause.
Sam , other than supporting you people at negotiations at the hotel,is there going to be a meeting or not? Thanks for your support. With the football season quickly approaching maybe all these Monday Morning QB's will direct their attention to that.
ReplyDeletewe dont need to push the wagon we need to circle the wagon. just need to know why i'm doing it. i agree.......2 many secrets
ReplyDeleteI gave Sam the Gavel when we first started the process. Its a powerfull tool when used properly. I wish he wouls start swinging it around before its too late. 11:11 AM - Does it matter how much longer it takes to get a decent and fair contract? Rolling like a Freight train..........Swing it Sammy......Swing it hard and Fast...Make it sting like a wasp...
ReplyDeleteHey Harry, what secrets? Uh, you circle the wagons just before you get killed Harry.
ReplyDeleteWatch the movies again.
I think pushing ahead - together - is much better.
Football - Sure let's have one. What days do you want to meet and what would the subject be at the meeting? Give me an idea and I will schedule it in Harriman for 1pm on two days between crew changes. Our negotiations are in two weeks and we already met about the direction to go in. I don't want to bring people to a meeting and rehash what we talked about already - those who come to most of the meetings won't appreciate that.
Let me know if what you think it should be about.
Let's consider closing down this blog until the contract is done or an offer is on the table. All we are doing now is defending our position or debating with the "no's". The other side didn't like this site at first but now they enjoy the bickering among ourselves. We can do our talking at the meetings or at the negotiations.
ReplyDeleteHey Sam...I don't need a meeting buddy...I'm behind you 100%...I just remember you saying about having a meeting so the hecklers could come and you could talk. Maybe the QB's could come and develope a better plan......Take a break Sam you deserve it.
ReplyDeleteHey guys - even the negs - it was a fun Sunday -In the end, we are all on the same page. Feels good once in awhile to mix it up with the boys a little.
ReplyDeleteI'm off now until tomorrow.
GETTIN READY FOR THAT NEXT BARGAINING SESSION.
Hey Football, looks like you better start training and getting ready for camp - I think they are going to settle their contract....lol
Can't wait Sam to settle ours.....
ReplyDeleteI'll be more than happy to come to the meeting at the hotel and show my suport for Sam and our Reps. Just tell me when, Whos coming with me?
ReplyDeleteCount me in. I want what we deserve.
ReplyDeletewow this is amazing. all the things being said. pro and con. But the real amazing parts are the ones like this comment posted @ 2.22.
ReplyDelete( you guys got what you wanted. shame on you for thinking sammy could bail you out hes an infomercial that went bad. I left and had a few beers and celebrated the morons that voted yes
July 23, 2011 2:22 PM ) WOW THAT JUST BLOWS MY MIND.the first statement ( you guys got what you wanted) what is that? gotta love it when the company does something now and it's not popular the non yes voters blame it on the union. lmao
that mind set is scary to say the least.
to make that statement WITHOUT A CONTRACT is utterly absurd! WHAT DID YOU HAVE BEFORE? the same as you do now! (NOTHING) read this closely now cause obviously you have trouble with some wording and literature.
WITHOUT A CONTRACT YOU HAVE NOTHING. NOTHING AT ALL. NO SAY WHAT'S SO EVER.
the next thing why do people blame sam. WTF does sam have to do with any of this????????
ReplyDeleteHe didn't make dave lehman lie to everyone. DAVE LIED TO EVERYONE. NOT SAM!
YOU FEW(NO) VOTERS ARE AMAZING. you know it's ok that you want to vote no. I respect that and i get that.
But to put blame where it doesn't belong it just blows my mind.
when your one son does something wrong do you blame it on your wife or daughter? I mean really guys! come on! stick to your ( no ) what ever that's all good. But be real with reality will ya!
DAVE. L has been lying for years and you want to blame sam and the union. that thought process is just astounding.
but that's just part of it. what i really feel sadness about is the fact that you have to resort to calling the ( yes ) voters morons.
( REALLY ) (REALLY 2.22 POSTER).
WHY WOULD YOU STOOP SO LOW TO CALL YOUR TEAM MEMBERS MORONS? THERE MORONS CAUSE THEY WANT A BETTER LIFE FOR THERE FAMILIES? IS THAT REALLY WORTHY OF THE RESPONSE OF ( MORON'S)?
I'm not going to pick on you back because that's probably what you want. but i will say this. It brings back the sadness statement i make before. and that is this.
IT'S A SAD DAY IN METAL CONTAINER OR ANY INDUSTRY WHERE A TEAM MEMBER IS OK WITH BEING SENT HOME WITHOUT PAY TO HAVE A COLD BEER.
MAYBE OUR PRIORITIES ARE DIFFERENT AND THAT IS OK AS WELL, BUT THE DAY THAT I'M SATISFIED WITH BEING FORCED TO GO HOME WITHOUT PAY TO HAVE A COLD BEER IS THE VERY DAY I JUST LET MY FAMILY DOWN.
Don't get me wrong i'm right there with the best of em to chug down a cold one but when i'm sent home (again folks so you get it) WITHOUT PAY. is the day i have to pass up the cold one and think about my family first.
TO BE OKAY WITH BEING SENT HOME WITHOUT PAY FOR A COLD ONE .
WELL NOW THAT IS WHEN THE WORD
( MORONIC ) FITS BEST.
For the one other one who keeps throwing our the laughable word (SECRET) out there.
no one keeps more secrets then our front office.
prime example was this week. when dave. l. said they didn't know about this. well the cat is out of the bag . It got leaked out that they knew about this shut down two days before this happened . they even had meetings about it. wake up people. THESE ARE YOUR MANAGERS THAT ARE OUR SUPPOSED LEADERS LYING FLAT OUT LYING TO OUR FACES. HOW DOES THAT MAKE YOUR FEEL. LOOKS LIKE TO JUST A COUPLE THAT YOU LIKE TO BE LIED TO. BUT I HAVE TO THINK THAT THERE MOST CERTAINLY IS A MUCH LARGER GROUP THAT IS TRIED OF THE LIES. AND OH YEA. THE ( SECRETS).
NEWS FLASH: TO THE CONSPIRATORIAL ONE. OBVIOUSLY YOU HAVEN'T MADE THE MEETINGS OR THE NEGOTIATION INVITES TO MAKE BLANKET STATEMENTS LIKE THAT. IF YOU THINK THERE ARE SECRETS SHOW UP TO A MEETING OR THE NEGOTIATIONS LIKE ALOT OF OTHERS HAVE. OR ARE YOU TO BUSY HAVING A COLD ONE WITH OUT PAY WITH THE OTHER BIG TIME SUPPORTER?
HA,HA. I'M SORRY I'M STILL LAUGHING ABOUT THAT ONE GUY THAT THINKS ITS OKAY TO BE SENT HOME WITHOUT PAY. WOW. YOU LEARN SOMETHING NEW EVERYDAY THEY SAY. HEY BUD HOW'S THAT COLD ONE GOING .
I'M GONNA STUDY SOME MORE LAWS AND CONTRACTS WHILE YOU HAVE A COLD ONE. AND THEN WHEN WE HAVE A CONTRACT AND GET TO GET PAID FOR GOING HOME . I'LL BUY A COUPLE OF CASES OF COLD ONE'S AND CELEBRATE THE HARD WORK THAT US MORON'S PUT IN FOR ONES LIKE YOU.
GOOD LUCK TO YOU . I SEE PEOPLE BUYING COLD ONES EVERY DAY WITH FOOD STAMPS.
REMEMBER I DIDN'T BASH YOUR NO VOTE STANCE. IT'S JUST YOUR MIND SET THAT WENT WITH IT.
YOU KNOW THE OLD SAYING:
DON'T BITE YOUR NOSE OFF TO SPITE YOUR FACE.
TO A FEW OF YOU WHO GET WORRIED SO QUICKLY WHEN SOMETHING HAPPENS . TRY NOT TO LISTEN TO THE VERY FEW WHO TRY TO TIP THE SHIP. DON'T LISTEN TO THE NEGATIVITY THAT THEY SPEW. SOME BANTER BACK AND FORTH IS VERY GOOD. KEEPS THE MIND INVOLVED IN THE GAME. BUT I WILL TELL YOU BEING INVOLVED THAT YOU ARE IN GOOD HANDS. THE GROUP INVOLVED AND I KNOW MOST OF YOU KNOW THIS ALREADY IS WORKING HARD TO GET THINGS DONE RIGHT. BUT ALSO REMEMBER THIS. THIS IS THE FIRST TIME FOR THEM AS WELL. SO BE PATIENT AND PLEASE DON'T LISTEN TO THE NEGATIVE FEW WHO THROW OUT WORDS LIKE SECRETS. ANYONE WHO'S BEEN INVOLVED KNOWS THERE ARE NO SECRETS. THAT IS HELD ONLY IN THE FRONT OFFICE. LOL .SORRY IT'S STILL AMAZING READING SOME OF THIS. SOME OF THOSE VERY SOME REASONS IS WHY WE GOT THIS GOING IN THE FIRST PLACE. WITH PAY AND BENNY'S TO GO WITH IT.
ReplyDeleteREMEMBER AS HARD AS SAM AND STEVE WORK IT IS STILL US THAT HAS TO STAY INVOLVED WITH OUR FUTURE . WE ARE THE UNION OF MCC. NOT SAM, STEVE OR ANYONE ELSE. THE POWER OF THE PEOPLE . THERE IS NO TRUER STATEMENT AROUND. STAY POSITIVE LOOK FORWARD NOT BACKWARDS AND STAND UP TO THE NO VOTERS WHEN THERE NEGATIVE TOWARDS YOU OR YOUR UNION, CAUSE YOU ARE THE UNION NOW. REPRESENT, BE RESPECTFUL OF THERE DECISIONS BUT STAND UP FOR YOUR BELIEFS AND FAMILIES AS WELL.
LIKE THERE NO VOTES THEY SHOULD RESPECT WHY YOU VOTED (YES).
NOW COME ON NEGATIVE COMMENTS. I KNOW THE FEW OF YOU WHO ARE OUT THERE WAITING TO USE THIS VERY SAME BLOG YOU DON'T LIKE TO STIR UP THE POT. WITH YOUR NEGATIVE INSIGHT - BRING IT.
WITH THE OTHER GREAT STATEMENTS YOU GUYS ALREADY MADE I CAN'T WAIT FOR MORE OF THAT.
YOU REALLY SHINE AND SHOW YOUR TRUE COLORS.
AGAIN IT'S NOT YOUR (NO) VOTE .
IT'S YOUR MINDSET.
don't know if you guys know this there are two types of lies frequently used by our management team the lies of commission where the lie directly to you and the lies of omission where they leave information out for their benefit it doesn't matter which they use it's all a sin that unless they make it right they will be held accountable for eventually a lie never ends it keeps coming back to bite the liar I guess it's a good thing there's no survey going on now remember these days when the next survey comes out
ReplyDeleteHow come they lie to us? I thought we all worked together at the same place? We should all have the same goals--a decent days work for a decent days pay. A person that does not tell the truth--will always be hiding something..
ReplyDeleteeveryone just relax until we see the finished contract. we never had any guarentees under the old system. the union has the potential to create a better work environment, at least we'll have a contract that they cannot manipulate on a case-by-case basis.
ReplyDeletei'm certain there will be some things in the contract that many of us do not like. but you have to consider the total package, let's wait and see.
to sam and the reps that have worked tirelessly on the contract, THANK YOU. i couldn't have dedicated the kind of time that you guys have given up. lets be the best union, making the best cans, for the best contract.
Thick hips? I can only imagine. 3:41, yes Inbev laid off some people from their flagship "Stella" brewery about 1.5 years ago and the non-laid off UNION EMPLOYEES first went out on a protest strike then re-entered the brewery and held management hostage (for real, and yes, hostage) until Brito and Company NEGOTIATED their release and the reinstatement of the fired (laid off permanently) employees. From Brito and companies stand point he must have needed another $35 mil, as he has a 5 car garage and has to leave his Porsche out in the rain.
ReplyDeleteThe shut down thing sucked. The team members were sacrificed (or included in the total savings plan) for a utility to give a rebate to THE only massively profitable companies in the world that doesn't pay it's bills for 120 days. (Most business is conducted at 30 days net (due).) Why do you think Dish TV doesn't work at the end of every other month in the lunch room. Some companies have the balls to stand up to these bullies. AND WE DO TOO! So cut the bickering bullshit and knuckle down. They just created another section of the contract to negotiate, another policy in their head. Actually could be a gift for us. Maybe they'll figure out what the consequences of their actions could be and do the right thing. Who am I kidding! They are in their traditional mindset with the addition of the third world approach. Except this time WE HAVE RECOURSE. A soon to be completed contract, ground rules. Security from threatening behavior. Maybe even a little more ka-ching in the pocket.
I still think they ruined a great company and a great company to work for.
Management's decision broke the heart's of a lot of people.
ReplyDeleteThat cold beer tasted bitter when I got home.
A better beer in a better world I think its time we started talking to the press this company is not interested in its people nor is it interested in the product it sells to the public as the reputation of a company to its workers reflects in its product. Great job the honorable burrito. WOW! you and your smiling face is just a mask for your cut throat stance on the public
ReplyDeleteWhen does the company survey come out again? I wonder if Newburgh Mgt could get any worse reviews than they did last year..Also>where are the changes mgt was supposed to make from last years survey? Its been quiet lately.
ReplyDeleteThen go work for someone else. Heard that before? Too many haters. Keep it in perspective at least. Let's just focus and get it done without the emotional banter.
ReplyDeleteBurrito---What is your gsme plan? Piss alot of people off and see if they buy your beer? Goodluck my man. One hand washes the other..
ReplyDeleteThe company is notified 24 hrs. in advance before the need of a electrical shut down, including how long. When Dan brought this to us he assured us that there would not be an instance that anyboy would be sent home! Got anything to Say Dan!!!! Would it have been so hard to let everyone stay and inform them that this would be the norm next time. Dan would you appreciate a month off without pay without warning???? (figuring that would be about equal pain)
ReplyDeletetoo many secrets all around.
ReplyDeleteI have an idea, you're going to think I'm nuts, but here goes. When the climate survey comes out, give them a good response. Everybody answer it. Give them good reviews. Tell them you are sooooo happy living in this workers Garden of Eden. You are so happy to come to work that you get so excited you could urinate yourself.
ReplyDeleteI'll tell you why it's in your best interests to give a good review.
First off I am a proud union member.
The union will not do us any good if we get shut down, for good.
Newark is the next runner up in employee dis-satisfaction after us. The brewery is slowly being dismantled. Complete lines. Shipped to other breweries, people laid off. Newark is the biggest brewery in the most prime location.
A little bird told me that. A trustworthy source.
So, let's eat it a little and save our own asses by throwing THEM a bone, it can always be a test to see if the "climate" changes before the next one. We can survey in a positive way and have a real discussion about the issues on a local basis. Most of which will be taken care of by the ratication of our contract. The contract changes the climate by being the document it is.
By the way, the order to send team members home came down from on Ranjive "Tony" Bhalla. Our "benevolent" benefactor. Net-net.
Think about it OK? The future of our plant could be riding on this survey.
LIARS
ReplyDeleteyou make me sick Dan & Dave
ReplyDeletesorry but i will not lie on my survey
ReplyDeleteDan and Dave had nothing to do with this, I heard this from someone who is very in contact with what's happening at Newark Brewery, in fact is there everyday. And thinks he's probably out the door if they move another line out. No lie.
ReplyDeleteAll because they had bad grades on a survey. Now that's a smart company isn't it? Move lines and shut em down. Thats a lot cheaper than changing the management and fixing the problem.
ReplyDeleteBoy, I'm convinced. I will make my survey a love fest for boys. Then Brito will think they're doing a fine job just the way they are. Get real Low Friends.
Ha. Its because beer sales and engagement surveys have been scientifically proven to be directly related. We should move all the breweries to Canada. That'll take care of those bad seeds, eh?
ReplyDeleteI know Dan and Dave are shadier than a weeping willow tree. They do not care much about the workers on the floor. They only care about themselves. There time will come...
ReplyDeleteour time will come and you can thank brito. I know many who will never again press thier lips against another ab product. Brito will let this company die then buy pepsi and tear it up into little pieces. why should we try to make this company better when the money hogs tear the company apart and fire thousands in st louis.
ReplyDeleteits time management plays on the same level as us if not they are not true christians
ReplyDeleteHi everyone this is Roast and I felt obligated to comment on the post from 9:05. I have written 2 other times on the blog once to thank everyone who said kind things about me last summer and second to tell someone to grow up after some extreme vulgarity. 9:05 what gives you the impression that the front office is true Christians (and I am not saying they are not) but none of them have ever shared their faith that I know of. Are you trying to make Christians look bad or that if management makes bad choices this has do with Christianity .I will be more than happy to explain to you what true Christianity is about, please feel free to approach me and I will be more than happy to talk to you.
ReplyDeletego get em pork roast!! trying to make these assholes understand is like pissing on your own feet in an ice cold shower. it just dont make sense.
ReplyDeleteRoast---That sounds like a sales pitch to me...Sounds like a used car salesman..
ReplyDelete"Either make the tree good, and his fruit good; or else make the tree corrupt, and his fruit corrupt: for the tree is known by his fruit."
ReplyDeleteAin't no good fruit from "Our" management team.
Da fruit of their corruption is how happy the workers are and how the plant is running.
Roast----Want me to get you a podium? I saw one in the training room...
ReplyDeleteman just listen to all of you bitching and complaining. that is exactly what the management wants and they are probably laughing their asses off right now. lets stick together one way or the other but LETS STOP RIPPING INTO EACH OTHER!!! lets get this contract done and move on from here. we need to be united on all fronts and keep our chins up. I know this shutdown sucked just like our mgmt. does but lets keep it together and keep pushing forward. and roast doesn't want to be challenged he's just trying to protect what he believes in. lets stop being a pack of wolves and settle this thing down. Sam we don't need the bickering and fighting amongst ourselves. lets go people. PUSH FORWARD!!!!
ReplyDeleteSam---The gavel? It is time to bring it out...Be a man and swing it..Thank you Sam and all the Reps for the hard work and time spent on making things better for all of us. I agree with saynototheshow--Now is the time we have to stick together and kick some ass. Its go time...Lets go team......Lets all get along and work on a better future for all of us....
ReplyDeleteOk Ok I thought I would see how far you guys would go. See what happened?
ReplyDeleteOk finally banging the gavel......
Lets keep this to things about the plant. What about things to improve it that don't include management. What would be some of those ways?
I know one.
Lets be nice to each other. This isn't a bar fight, it's a group of people who work together trying to keep the great place they work in great and to keep the things they have earned after going through a corporate take over.
Nothing wrong with that at all. In fact, it is pretty smart.
See? It's easy.
Sam> Thank you for giving a good point of view. I am glad you finally took the gavel out of your pocket. The bottom line is we all are striving for the same thing--a fair contract..Something that protects us and puts policies in black and white. Lets all do the best we "can" and be safe also. Lets go team.......
ReplyDeleteIve been away awhile and just got back in town. Im trying to catch up with everything. Im dissappointed to see some negative blogs. No matter what people believe in, if anyone has a problem or disagreement with the consensus of the people who voted in this union, please bring your thoughts and concerns to light without tearing down eachother. We are a union. We have a consensus and we will achieve the goals of the consensus. We are not perfect, but we are willing to try to make things better for the members of this union. That is better than whinning about problems and not trying to make things better. There is always going to be disagreements between people, different points of view, different priorities. We can and have reduced those differences just by talking to eachother. We can and have been talking with the company about things that are important to us all. The company and every individual that works at our plant has a mutual need. We all need to produce a quality product that someone wants to buy.If we dont do that all of us are out of business. Period. Including our union. Sam knows that. The company knows that. Your reps know that. You know that. There. We are all on the same page.Lets finish this negotiation and take a look together at what the company and the reps that the consensus has asked to represent them have worked on. We have voiced our concerns and they have been heard. The company will sitdown with us very soon and discuss the final aspects that are so important to everyone. Whatever the final offer is,I truly hope that the company keeps in mind that our consensus, our people, our membership, us individuals have worked hard during all this time to keep our quality product coming out.We deserve the respect of the company. The only way to respect us is to complete our contract with good and respectable compensation that the consensus has definitely has earned.
ReplyDeleteALOHA JOE....Glad your back
ReplyDeleteJoe,
ReplyDeleteI am glad you are back---But i hope it is not too late..The anchor on our boat has broken and we have been floating downstream. Now we are trying to get back upstream but we are going against the current. What can we do Joe?
8:45 Its definitely not too late. We still have to negotiate the end of our contract, also dont get caught up in the rantings and ravings of a couple of negative individuals. I have had many conversations with alot of people on the floor and so has all the shop stewards. All of the conversations and discussions have the same concerns, hopes, wishes, desires, and yes dreams that we had since the very beginning. That hasnt changed. The content of the written contract hasnt changed. The ideals that everyone who gave input hasnt changed. So how and why could it be too late? The written agreement has and will be the constant. Regardless of what manager or what person is where. We have our voices on paper. Without that, you have No input. The majority of people That I have talked to want the same things. I havent heard anyone say to me that they want the company to do whatever they want to do in regards to our employment. Not one.The only side that ever says that is the management side.
ReplyDeleteThings arent doom and gloom as certain blogs would have it. I can assure you that face to face, people have given their support for what the people want.Has anyone heard any member say they dont want a raise? Has anyone heard anyone say that they want to have more taken away from them. Of course not. The reps have worked hard for a long time and will continue to represent the consensus of the plant. We are still solid and still strong. Come talk to me face to face if youd like. I welcome your input. Our diversity makes us strong. We have been at this plant through alot. We have struggled through many problems in the past and have come out better in the end. This is no different.
This blog makes you all look totally unprofessional.
ReplyDeletewell joe you weren't here for the lying session the other day. wow. amazing how someone can just sit there and lie to our faces about (business) decisions. here's your quote joe:
ReplyDelete(I truly hope that the company keeps in mind that our consensus, our people, our membership, us individuals have worked hard during all this time to keep our quality product coming out.We deserve the respect of the company.)
well we all wished the same thing but the other day they proved where we stand on the thought process pole. well.
WE WERE UNDERNEATH THE POLE HOLDING IT UP. SO WE WEREN'T EVEN IN SITE OR IN THE DISCUSSION!
I THOUGHT I SAW FRED ASTAIRE DANCING IN THE RAIN FOR A MOMENT.
LETS HAVE A UNION MEETING AT RIVER ROCK CAFE
ReplyDeleteHere at Mira Loma, we have had 3 sups quit in the last month. Morale is at an all time low and production numbers are the worst ever. Now we have Tony Bhalla coming this week and again in 2 weeks for ECM's. We are sinking fast.... How are things over at Newburgh?
