B & D Plant Visits Complete: A & C Are Next - Negotiations Next Week

This has been a good week. I went to the plant this Wednesday and Friday to visit B&D Crews and the guys in Maintenance. First of all let me talk about the plant. It is one of the cleanest places I have seen. Considering that there are paint and chemicals around, the place is spotless. Another thing that caught my eye was that the people almost become one with the process. You guy are in it. When you walk around if you see someone they are involved in what is going on someplace on that line. That is IF you see someone. Everyone I did see was busy at what they are charged with doing. I am proud to represent you guys.

Let me talk about my reception from Management, Dan and Dave. I couldn't have been treated any better and with any more respect than how they treated me. I promise that I will keep that relationship going. I want to respect both the workers and the management team. After our negotiations are complete we will demonstrate that feeling openly as a GROUP and we will ALL strive to make this the best plant in the whole ABINBEV company.

IBEW Local 363 will be happy to lead us in THAT DIRECTION.

My plan is to meet with the A & C crew after next weeks negotiation meetings. That could possibly change if I can do it the same week but for now it will be after next weeks bargaining session.

We had some GREAT DISCUSSIONS at the meetings this week. I felt really good when I left the plant at the end of the day. I am sure many people did.

I am going to shift gears a little on the blog. I am not going to allow negative comments to flow through unchecked any more. I want to move forward in a positive manner. Questions or concerns are fine. Catcalling is out.

It's time.

All of the prices have been paid. Problems or beefs need to be brought to your STEWARDS and then to me. This is how we do it right.

If you are going to visit during bargaining - Monday we will be at the hotel at 12 noon. We will probably bargain into the night a little. If you come, text your rep and we will see you on our next break or make a break if we can at that time.

Thank you for your support and for a good week.

Stay solid, stay strong

  4. as i sit here looking out the window seeing the gloomy skies i am thinking there's a bright shinning in my head. one more round of negotiations begin again today. one more step closer to unified team. I also realize that i get to sit home every time there's a meeting while the stewards and negotiators have to leave there homes and families and what ever else they had going on to attend these sessions even if the sun was shinning and it was 75 degrees outside i know they would be there representing us team members. SO TO ALL OF YOU TEAM MEMBERS THAT ARE STEWARDS AND NEGOTIATORS I THANK ALL OF YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR EFFORTS AND MOST OF ALL COMMITMENTS THROUGH OUT.

    THANK YOU!

  7. More and more the picture is getting clearer. Everytime we meet we have moved forward. The intent of our contract has become evident to the company. Fairness, job security ,consistancy between crews, proper implementation of policies, understanding how and what the company really compensates us with. Understanding what we will have in the future and what is expected by both parties for the life of the contract.Having a meaningful way to right a wrong.Having someone there at your side making sure you are treated properly when problems arise. Having a voice. We are almost there.

  21. The Walrus is still out here. I was just a little disturbed by the negativity that was happening and didn't want to add to it by dressing down those few who spew it. Didn't want to cause any pissing contests. I have made some comments here and there with an alter ego. I'm part of and aletting the process run it's course to the successful ending. A contract that makes management and team members happy. Sometimes it's better to shut up and listen, pay attention to others and learn. Get a feel for what others are thinking.
So, I didn't lose interest, just sat on the sidelines for a while.Observing. Being Patient. A fine thing is being done here and I'm glad to be a part of it and the support is greatly appreciated and welcome. Thanks.

  23. Looking forward to theese meetings. I am really hoping for a great turnout so we can show this company just how strong the people at MCC newburgh are. It's about time our voices are heard about things that we want, I've waited along time for this day. Everyone needs to realize this isn't the Anheuser Busch company a lot of us agreed to work for. To many things have changed over the last few years and the only way to stop the negative changes and start the positive ones is to support our union. United we stand, Lets all find a way to get to the meeting and show Sam and all our reps how much we appreciate the work they have put in for us.
