There is a movement building at the can plant. That movement is for the BENEFIT OF THE WORKING PEOPLE. The handwriting is on the wall in regard to what the company plans are for us there. They do not have the workers interests in mind at all.
WHICH SIDE ARE YOU ON?
THE PEOPLE HAVE DECIDED TO FORM A UNION TO PROTECT THEMSELVES. The people are banding together to speak as one voice. THE PEOPLE WANT to sit at the table - with management - and work out a FAIR and WRITTEN contract.
WHICH SIDE ARE YOU ON?
The comments and misleading statements by our management have already started in an attempt to intimidate and scare the people to stop the movement to organize.
WHICH SIDE ARE YOU ON?
BUT THEY CANNOT STOP IT! The people know what they need to protect themselves and their families. THEY NEED A CONTRACT. A WRITTEN CONTRACT.
WHICH SIDE ARE YOU ON?
Why does the company fear that so much? The answer is because without that contract they can take away EVERYTHING the workers have - and the workers have no right to even question it.
WHICH SIDE ARE YOU ON?
Take any of the "advice" in regard to forming a union from the management crew who are being paid to keep you weak and separate and toss that "advice" right in the trash. It is always scripted, forced, twisted and designed to make you work against yourself and your co-workers.
THE WORKERS ARE MUCH SMARTER THAN MANAGEMENT THINKS.
WHICH SIDE ARE YOU ON?
All of us are on the side of each other
ReplyDeleteright next to IBEW 363
the company hacks can say what they want nobodys listenin
I am for a union. I see the writing on the wall. We need to unite and keep what we have before we lose it all. Our bottom line has not increased in the last 3-4 years with all the benifits they have taken away from us allready. whats next 401k match? pension? less health care? more copays.
ReplyDeleteI am for a union. One voice for the greater good of all. They forced us into this by cutting and cutting, making us pay more and more. whats next? They negotiate prices to protect their interests with suppliers and distributers, whats so bad for us to do the same. When the dictatorship treats us unfairly, time and time again, its time for us to stand up and stop the unfairness and vote.
ReplyDeleteGuys and Gals wake up and smell the roses if we don't get a union this time we are totally screwed they will do things too make your life hell for once can't we all stick together,
ReplyDeleteIf your not sure about going union go to the meetings ask question they say the union is not honest well do you really think management is being honest please ! Lets get this in full force
so if you have a family you want to protect go union go 363 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I never got a card in the mail how do I get one? Is there a site I can go to? Is there a date to set up the final vote?
ReplyDeleteYou will be getting a card in the mail. Fill it out, sign it and mail it back. Hurry it is coming quick and you will want to be part of it all right from the start.
ReplyDeleteYou can also call the IBEW Local 363 office at (845) 783-3500 and ask for a card and info to be sent to you. Specify it is for the Newburgh Can Plant.
Rayman how many times do they have to kick you in the nuts first you are not quilfied too be a team leader, that you did very well. Then they give you a hard time over and over wake up!
ReplyDeleteTwelve or so years ago ....
ReplyDeleteWe didn't know how good things were, did we?
... There was a drive to get a Union at Newburgh.
Couriers were sent to each employee's house threatening that should the Union be embraced, all General Technicians would be terminated.
It's been made pretty clear during his tenure that Dan hates GT's, and that one of his major goals is to eliminate them.
What prevents Dan, once the Union has been accepted, from laying off GTs?
He seems prideful that at his last plant he decimated the ranks of his GTs.
2:22 pm - Danny boy can lay off everybody and anyone any time he wants WITHOUT A CONTRACT - don't just stop with GT's. As it sits right now - today - youre all at risk with nothing to say about it.
ReplyDeleteWith a contract there WILL be rules in regard to layoffs - so it's safe to say that ONCE AGAIN - having a CONTRACT IS THE SAFEST BET.
by the way - you are going to LOVE Local 363
Let me comment on dans letter. I see facts based on no data, just because he says it im supposed to believe it. Sorry ive been lied to far to long. Another comment about the tape recorders if it is true, good it will keep them from threating that you will lose your job, or maybe even close the plant if we vote in a union, which is illegal for them to do and admitted to doing in the last election. lies by the company, and the management team. They will lie to you and even fabricate facts and data to keep the union out. These are facts that they have demonstrated over and over again. believe them if you like but i will not.
ReplyDeleteOne last thing, that is fact, how many times have they changed a policy without notice, and the only way you find out is when you break the new and improved policy. Our employment, wages, benefits, are the same, they can be changed at any time without a contract.
Did everyone see the Ball Metal contract?
ReplyDeleteread it good! We need that!
send in your cards please!
STOP THE LIES NOW. THERE IS NOW TO MY KNOWLEGH
ReplyDelete92 CARDS IN. WHAT ARE WE WAITING FOR? OR ARE YOU TRING TO GET 148.THERE ARE ABOUT 15 THAT ARE NOT INTERESTED.............THOSE ODDS ARE PRETTY GOOD. PEOPLE ARE NOT LISTENING THEY HAVE MEETINGS NO ONE IS RESPONDING WHAT DOES THAT TELL YOU CORRECT ME IF I'M WRONG.
What is the company so afraid of A UNION FOR. If we pay the dews? I'LL TELL YOU WHY BECAUSE THEY DON'T HAVE THE ABILITY TO TAKE ANYTHING AWAY.
ReplyDeleteTHANKS FOR YOUR CARDS EVERYBODY AND FOR SUPPORTING YOUR MANY FELLOW WORKERS WHO HAVE ALSO SENT IN THEIR CARDS!
ReplyDeleteThe CONTRACT is what is IMPORTANT in all of this. That is the goal. Everyone should read the BALL CONTRACT - that is a current active contract. Any anti-union or other "facts" or rumors are designed to bring you away from the subject:
The contract link can be found top right of this
site - just click and read
I need to say something for all you fence sitter.
ReplyDeleteDo you know why the Jacksonville plant got a rise and a 1000.00 sign on bonus because they are union we spoke to several team members at that plant and they honestly don't know how we went this long without a union.Anonymous said when ever he as a issue he calls the union and they staighen it out. They are all happy there they don't have to dail with them changing things.
Point of this don't let another union get voted out of mcc think of your future. IBEW IS A GREAT UNION MY BROTHER IN BELONGS TO IT HIS RETIREMENT AS OF TODAY IS 2900.00 A MONTH HE ONLY AS 11 YEARS OF SERVICE.
I have a question can you tell us what the ball retirement is. Ball park figure, ours is 58.00 for each year serviced.

ReplyDeleteGuys in all the time that was spent at your can plant in no way shape or form did management ever support you unless they could bennifit from your idea or the fruit of your labor , this union is a great step for all of the hard working people that i still know working there. Dont think for on second that management will let this go if the union does not get in ,it will be the be the start of something that you cant imagine. Take the time to stop and think this could change your life . Take it from someone who has worked their and knows thatmanagement sucks they will screw you in a heartbeat.
