Just In Case You Missed It

We had this sign up for about a week and a half before one of the suits went out and took it down.

They want you to make the right choice so much that they took a stick and poked this little sign off of the pole across the street from the entrance to the airport.

Who ever said they wouldn't go out of their way for you?

  4. Why would that sign bother the suit.

  5. How can unionizing be bad for business? Jax union members won the MCC Bevo Fox award in 2009 for finding a way to increase production by several million cans.

  7. You guys are going to be one of the best parts of IBEW Local 363 when this is all over.

It is YOU that is making this happen.

When its all over we need to make them sit down and bargain with us KNOWING we have all good intentions and want what is best for the people and the company.

That's the big change - Because right now -

it's ONLY all about what is good for the company

That is going to be the best change in this whole "takeover" by Inbev

  8. That is unbelieveable! They actually went off the property and across the street to remaove that sign!!!! So when they say they want us to make the right choice why are they really trying to take one of the choices away behind our backs?

  9. they think unions are bad for business, but don't seem to mind that all of the breweries are unionized. They don,t like the idea of having checks and balances on the way they treat employees and changes they make. Theirs nothing worse then working all weekend and come in on Monday, your last day and Mgts first and one of them has some hairbrain idea they conjured up over the weekend to implement. Then the union says "wait a minute" that has to be bargained, you just can't change things unilaterally.Their ego is crushed.Or they call you in to interrogate you over some occurence and ask the dreaded 5 why's and you tell them "Sir, I would really like the presence of my shop steward before these questions go any further".I just love my union.MCC JACKSONVILLE/Local organized in Nov. 1974/Proud member for 35 years

  10. "Absolute power corrupts absolutely"

    I like Dan.

    As a person, I think he's a great guy.

As a plant manager however, I think he leaves a lot to be desired.

I often wonder if he feels he's a benevolent benefactor to the workers.

I wonder if he feels that he's kept our jobs. Sadly Dan hasn't, he's altered our jobs to our failure daily and frustration.

I've heard the comment "You have to remember who butters your bread." OUCH. I feel we butter each other's bread.

If the Manager's got pissed off one day and said ..... I've had it, I'm going home! The plant would continue to run, for a time.

If all the workers got pissed off one day and said ..... I've had it, I'm going home! The plant would stop at that moment.

Sadly, I think that is what Dan has missed.

It takes all of us, caring about each person in their capacity to make MCC Newburgh work.

Managers venture out of the filtered breathing air, air conditioned offices, to make their token visits on the floor. They know, within a few minutes they will be back in their comfy chairs, in cool temperatures, drinking coffee, designing useless forms, surfing the Internet, and patting each other on the back at meetings sharing what a good job they do.

Their decisions, based from their armchairs, from fraudulent data, have had an adverse effect on each hourly worker on the plant floor.

I feel bad for Dan. His decisions are based on perception. His decisions are not based on what is really going on on the floor. He is completely insulated from the poor decisions his manager's have made. Dan has no idea.

    That's sad.

I'm sure Dan's angry, frustrated, and a bit confused over what has transpired in the last few months.

    Unless he's a great actor.

I worked in an environment where people came up through the work force. They started at the very bottom. Their work ethic, job skills and drive permitted them to advance up through the crew. They were respected by the people below them, because each worker knew that their boss had risen through their lower level to achieve the position the manager held. Each worker knew that theit manager could do the job they did, perhaps better! They knew what the meaning of a meritocracy is. I will advance based on my performance, my manager is the evidence. I can work hard, and someday I will have a position like my manager.

At MCC Newburgh, sadly, we have managers who don't know their worker's jobs.

Until this changes, manager's will never know of the hardships their worker's face.

    Our manager's are comfortably insulated.

I feel sorry for Dan, he's out of touch.

I truly wish he was in touch.

Dan, ever run the sprays for a couple of hours, run a printer, load a truck, clear jams on a bodymaker, be the scrap driver, run a palletizer, chase a robot in the dark?

Earn the respect of your workforce. Learn why their jobs are so hard, and what you can do, from experience, to make their jobs easier, and more productive. Help your MCC workforce!

Ensure your managers are doing the right timg.

We're now at the point of no return. I wish the decisions of the manager's in the past could have been different. Such is life. IF the union is not brought into MCC Newburgh, the workers will be in a meat grinder.

The manager's WILL tear us up.

    Good luck in your decisions.

well i'm not so sure they can tear us up. WE still have the power. Its in your hands every single day. YOU run the equipment not them! remember that. There's only so much tearing down and then EVERYTHING goes down with it.

  15. Probably a pain in the butt .....

... it would be nice to have the 35 "Do you know" acts listed on here somewhere.

  16. Hey Help and Worried PLEASE POST ON HERE WHICH MANAGER IT IS AND WHAT THEY ASK OR SAY OR DO SO EVERYONE CAN KNOW and I can know too. We will target that manager with the tape recorders and he will be the one who needs the representation. WE HAVE THINGS ON THESE GUYS ALREADY.

Anybody can call my office and leave their number for me to call you back and I will even meet with you about any threats or questioning BY YOUR MANAGERS of your opinion about the union.

The Union is NONE of the companys business.

They should let the people make their adult minds up for themselves and stay out of this process.

  17. Dont forget imbev slogan " better beer company in a better world" How ridiculous! Better for who? Not better for America nor is it better for the workers here at the brewery's if you guys at the can plants don't successfully bring in your own union you may as well leave yourself open to Carlos B. Its truly sad that a prosperous USA company fell in the wrong hands. And for you North American Zone I speak for most if not all at this Brewery! Imagine workers for the old AB rioting like the ones in Europe? Dont think so!

  20. Hello , My Name is Tony Roussos And I am the CHief Steward at Wallkill Can Plant . It is my Understanding that a few Individuals are making false statements and saying that the Wallkill Membership tried to Re- Certify the Ibew in our Plant . Here it from me , This is totally False . Tell these individuals to show you proof . I feel confident they will not be able to do so , They are trying to mis-lead you people . The IBEW 363 is alive and strong in Wallkill . Feel free to contact me at anytime to discuss the Union . Call Union Hall for my numbers . I would be glad to talk to anyone of you . This is the smart way to go . Dont listen to the people that are anti-union . Ask the people that were employed at Wallkill , What thier job duties were .... Where They Management ? Oh yes , and then terminated .. Of course they would be against the Union . Dont Fall for it . Your doing the right thing people.
