You Say Its Your Birthday!!! It's My Birthday Too Yea!



Up and atom! 4AM heading to my new building at Stewart to MCC to make sure the Labor Board sets everything up right. Can't stay - not allowed. I have NO OBSERVER NAMED FROM THE WORKERS BECAUSE I DO NOT WANT TO EXPOSE ANYONE.

So ask yourself - who is it that REALLY CARES about the PEOPLE?? The IBEW THAT"S WHO!


Here we are! This is the day everybody! The start of your new beginnning! The one with a voice and a seat at the table.

Tony is Gone - THE LIES HAVE BEEN TOLD- HOW STRONG ARE YOU? I THINK REAL STRONG!

STAY IBEW STRONG! BECOME AN IBEW MEMEBR AND NEVER HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT THEM WALKING AROUND THE PLANT SCARING EVERYBODY INDIVIDUALLY SO THAT YOU CANNOT SCARE THEM COLLECTIVELY - AS ONE!

  2. Just VOTED YES for the IBEW. Don't let Tony keep us from having our union and our contract. He doesn't care about us, it is a game to him.

    He has his big paycheck and probably feels secure that he will not lose anything.

    I want that protection too and I just gave myself that chance with that YES VOTE!

    I'm gettin mine. Tony is not taking my chance at making it here and having a contract.

    Things have changed for the worse. It isn't our old company anymore, lets protect ourselves.

  3. I just voted hell yeah!
    Im telling everyone im pumped up.We are going to tell brito in a clear voice, we are proud of what we are. We will not just accept being standardized to the rest of the world. We are a great group of individuals who brought this plant to the top of the industry. Why should the management be the only ones who capitalize on our backs? We deserve the right to be treated with respect and compensated at the rate at which we delivered the results. Isnt that what Inbev preaches? Then why the hell does Tony keep telling us he wants us to be closer to what the other plants make? We make a hell of alot of money for them.
    Dam it Im pissed that some of you people dont want a union but are ok with being compensated with other plants that dont even compare with us.Wake the fuck up.
    I dont buy it for one second that this company will play hard ball with us because they can.Of course thy are going to tell you gloom and doom if we go union.They want to be like Bernie Madoff and take what they can from you. all they have to do is scare you alittle and he pockets another wad of money. As Tony said when we hickup the rest of the industry feels it.Do you think that brito is willing to let the other can manufacturers gain leverage on us? They need us .They have commitments. remember. Whos going to do the line sweeps?Warren? Holly? Dan? Some one who doesnt know line one from four? They need us folks. Stop the fucking crying and whining and vote yes . I did

  4. I agree with you. These guys could give two shits about us worker bees. We are bringing in the union to make sure that they cannot take evry dam thing we have. We are winning this election big. There are too many smart people who want a contract. Vote yes everybody or we are just handing over our asses to them on a silver platter.

  6. I am an IBEW LU 363 member for 23 plus years and i have been watching this blog since it had 2,000 hits and all i can say is welcome brothers and sisters. You guys took the ball and ran right into the endzone.The people posting on this blog sound like they have been in the union longer than myself.It's refreshing to see such strong support for each other as you campaign for fair treatment which is not much to ask for as an american worker.I wish all of you goodluck today and tomorrow, vote yes.

  10. I heard about this story at a district IBEW meeting in Atlantic City this week. I think that this is awesome! If Inbev has already turned the place around from what it was when it was AB, then the changes aren't going to stop. The greedy bastards will just continue to take, just like any other corporation would. I would urge all of you to vote YES for the forming of a union there! Welcome to the IBEW!!!!

  14. Hi everyone! I am an IBEW member of Local 363 in the manufacturing division. I work at Zumtobel Staff Lighting in Highland. I have been dealing with Sam as our Business Agent since 1994! YOU GUYS ARE IN GOOD HANDS! DON'T MISS THIS CHANCE TO HAVE SAM AND 363 REPRESENT YOU. We have had nothing but a good experience. It would be a shame if you guys listened to the baloney the company has told you about contracts and our union and ended up screwing yourselves.

    I don't think there is any reason accept fear that can stop you guys.

    With all due respect to all of you I would NEVER trade places with you because you have NO contract! I don't care what you tell me you "have". I would not trust working "uncovered" like that and niether should you.

    Come and join the hardest working union in the area and one that will watch your back without question.

    Good luck guys hope you choose to support each other and join our union. Maybe I will show up at your victory party!

  17. I was a no vote in 94. I was going to vote no now,but after hearing what Tony Dan & Dave have said and looking back at the past few years I agree we need to be one. I will be a YES vote and hope everyone has listened to what was said. Thank-you Sam for all your hard work.

  22. 5:42PM - 2-1 means that we have an informal poll going on how people voted and it is 2 yes votes for every no vote.

    Its informal but should be in the ballpark.

    It shows that more people are in tune with the urgency of having a contract then we thought!

    You can always be non-union and have no contract......

    ....and when you choose that path - you are saying to the corporate office.....

    "It is OK to take back anything you want of ours anytime and just let us know HOW MUCH YOU ARE TAKING AFTER you do it.

    I don't think that is the best solution for people who are working for a new foriegn owner who has openly admitted that they will be cutting jobs and benefits from the hourly workforce.

    That should mean they get no votes, zero.

    For instance, they already have a PLAN TO INCREASE YOUR HEALTH COVERAGE TO 35% OF THE PREMIUM.

    Voting NO tells them to do it and if they need more to do that too.

    Doesn't make sense for a worker to choose that situation but it is all up to you guys now.

    A YES vote means they CANNOT do that without us coming to the table and NEGOTIATING WHAT ECCET IT WILL HAVE ON YOU.

    THE CHOICE IS A NO BRAINER FOLKS, A NO BRAINER.

    VOTE YES AND GET A SEAT AT THAT TABLE OR VOTE NO AND GIVE IT ALL BACK WITHOUT A PEEP.

  32. A request for those who wern't anti -union to begin with. We need to band together to make sure this vote leans heavy for the union. It is up to us, the ones who are looking ahead, to see that we are in deep shit if we allow Brito ro even Tony unlimited access to our benefits and our paychecks. Tony told us all the bad things that could happen with the union.

    The problem is those same things will happen without the union and we will have no say at all in any of it. I am appealing to you guys out there, bring this in big. We need to make a stand together. We will decide what our union does. They get their plans from us. We need to be able to talk about any more changes that happen in this Newburgh Plant. To give that up is insane!

    how can you insert no experience in an area that needs alot of knowledge,forethought,and the ability to make informed decisions.
