The Harder they Come - The Harder They Fall

THE HARDER THEY COME, THE HARDER THEY FALL.

Ok folks. For the next act here at the MCC Newburgh Captive Audience Theater we have a talented young man flying in from St. Louis - KEN THE NEGOTIATOR!

NEWSFLASH------ATTENTION ALL WORKERS: KENS FIRST LIE - He told you all that there is an $800 INITIATION FEE for IBEW LOCAL 363 new members.

The FACT IS THERE IS NO INITIATION FEE - THE COST TO YOU IS ZERO.

Really, what is it with these guys from corporate REPEATEDLY LYING LIKE THIS? It's all of them! Everyone so far.

THERE HAS NEVER BEEN INITIATION FEE AND THAT IS WHAT MAKES IBEW 363 DIFFERENT THAN MOST UNIONS - WE HAVE NO FEES - JUST $1 DOLLAR FOR EVERY HUNDRED YOU MAKE (UP TO ONLY 40 HOURS STRAIGHT TIME TOO - NO OT!) - AND THAT IS IT- NOTHING ELSE.

NICE JOB KEN - MADE MY JOB EASY - LYING IN YOUR FIRST FIVE MINUTES WAS A GOOD STRATEGY. WAY TO LEAD WITH YOUR GOOD HAND. THERE GOES YOUR STREET CRED KENNY BOY.

KEN THE NEGOTIATOR will be the star of your next CAPTIVE meetings. HIS JOB (BESIDES STARTING RIGHT OUT WITH BIGTIME LYING ALREADY )is to convince you that negotiating is a losing proposal for you. KEN THE NEGOTIATOR IS GOING TO EXPLAIN THAT negotiating a fair contract is really just IMPOSSIBLE.

In fact, KEN THE NEGOTIATOR WILL ALSO EXPLAIN THAT YOU WILL ACTUALLY LOSE MUCH MORE THAN YOU GAIN BECAUSE THAT IS WHAT NEGOTIATIONS ARE. THAT IS WHY PEOPLE NEGOTIATE CONTRACTS - SO THEY CAN LOSE EVERYTHING.

You see guys, it isn't what it all appears to be out there in the big world. KEN THE NEGOTIATOR WILL MAKE SURE TO CLEAR THIS ALL UP FOR YOU.

DOES EVERYONE FROM ACROSS THE COUNTRY READING THIS UNDERSTAND THAT SUCCESSFUL PEOPLE DO NOT NEGOTIATE. SUCCESSFUL PEOPLE GET IN THE CORNER, SHUT THEIR MOUTHS AND TAKE WHAT THEY GET. IF THAT IS NOTHING, THEN THAT IS NOTHING. THIS WAY THEY CAN NEVER LOSE.

KEN THE NEGOTIATOR IS GOING TO EXPLAIN THAT.

Remember the CARLOS BRITO video that was up a few days ago and how he was SMILING and HAPPY and EXCITED because he NEGOTIATED and CAME TO AN AGREEMENT with AB. Did you see how PROUD HE WAS OF THE RESULT? HOW EXCITED HE WAS? Did you hear him brag how they got to the table and "worked together and came to a fair agreement"?

Well, that is all fake. Carlos doesn't really like negotiations. Actually, negotiations are bad, not good - the video you all watched of a happy smiling Carlos bragging about what great negotiations they had with AB and how they all worked together - didn't really happen. You eyes and ears were mistaken. Negotiations just don't work. In fact, when you negotiate - you just lose.

There is NO WINNING when you negotiate - just ask KEN THE NEGOTIATOR - he will tell you.

In retrospect - Carlos would probably have liked it better if AB JUST DICTATED THE TERMS OF THEIR AGREEMENT TO HIM.

IN FACT, I HEAR CARLOS IS CALLING AB AND OFFERING A "DO OVER".

Yessssssssssssssssssss! and that is why Carlos sent KEN THE NEGOTIATOR here.

KEN THE NEGOTIATOR IS GOING TO CONVINCE YOU THAT HAVING DAN, TONY, CARLOS, DAVE AND WARREN DICTATE EVERYTHING TO YOU IS THE BEST POSSIBLE WAY FOR YOU TO GET AHEAD IN LIFE.

In fact, those AB great and FAIR negotiations never even happened.

Like they said in the Wizard of OZ movie - PAY NO ATTENTION TO THAT MAN BEHIND THE CURTAIN!!!!!!

Another STRONG POINT AGAINST NEGOTIATIONS - Management is so good at dictating that they will NEVER even have to ask you your OPINION on anything concerning your job or what they decide to do with your job - or even your paycheck! Wow! Cool! I'm all taken care of now! How silly we all were to want to have an opinion and a voice at work.

Let's all go home and teach our kids from the very beginning of life that:

wanting to have a voice at work is bad.

wanting the terms and conditions of any agreements they make in life written down on paper is UNNECESSARY and bad.

wanting to stick together with your friends for the benefit of all is bad.

wanting to negotiate anything that has to do with your own paycheck is bad.

Here is the real scoop: KEN THE NEGOTIATOR IS GOING TO LIE TO YOU GUYS. HE IS GOING TO TRY TO SCARE YOU, MAKE YOU AFRAID TO WANT A WRITTEN CONTRACT. KEN WILL TELL YOU ABOUT ALL YOU WILL LOSE.

You don't need to DEFEND ANYTHING because we have the VOTES. Ken can say whatever he wants and lie how ever much he wants TO LIE.

Here is what KEN THE NEGOTIATOR WON"T TELL YOU - if there is ANY kind of threat to ANYTHING YOU GUYS HAVE - it won't come from the union at the bargaining table......

ANYTHING NEGATIVE IN REGARD TO YOU GUYS AND NEGOTIATIONS CAN ONLY COME FROM ONE PLACE:

KEN THE NEGOTIATOR!

KEN THE NEGOTIATOR "EDUCATING YOU" IS LIKE THE WOLF WARNING THE THREE LITTLE PIGS THAT THERE IS DANGER AHEAD.

IT IS ALSO LIKE A BIG KID TRADING A LITTLE KID THE BIGGER NICKEL FOR THE SMALLER DIME. IF THE LITTLE KID IS STUPID - HE'LL LISTEN TO THE BS LOGIC OF WHY THE BIGGER ONE IS BETTER.

YOU CAN'T LOSE WITH A WRITTEN CONTRACT NO MATTER HOW MANY STIFFS THEY MARCH OUT HERE TO TELL YOU ANY DIFFERENT.

STAY SOLID, STAY STRONG, DON'T DEFEND ME OR THE UNION, LISTEN AND BE POLITE , TELL THEM WHAT THEY WANT TO HEAR AND JUST VOTE FOR IBEW LOCAL 363 ON AUGUST 27 / 28

REMEMBER - The harder they come - the harder they fall.

WOW KEN! WOW! DAN 36,000 HITS!

  1. Good question.....I'll get backto youAugust 12, 2010 at 9:40 AM

Read a interesting article in the usa today on wed. Joel Naroff, president and cheif economist of Naroff Economic Advisors writes. "I dont't think we should be surprised that once the economy starts...picking up, theres a massive relocation of workers who want out fast as they possibly can. Thats the warning that I don't think businesses really recognize :You can pull this off now because there isn't really an option, but once theres an option, its going to be payback time. You are going to be losing some of your best people! Clearly, the massive drive to get more productivity and more output out of workers is running into a wall. We're working too hard, all the bloods out of the stone, and it's now time to look for a new stone."
This is exactly what has happened to our plant and why we need a contract in place.

  2. man isnt that the truth. These corporate whores are having a blast keeping the American workers down but it's all about to flip on them.

We better get a contract here in Newburgh for managements sake too.

I've had it being pushed around.

  4. Ken the negotiator? Damn, I thought it was going to be William Shatner, and he was going to get us all a good room cheap on Priceline! Oh well, another 90 minutes off the floor, with a guest speaker, more drivel. Someone else telling us what's good for us, while we are being held hostage. Are they trying to induce the "Stockholm Syndrome"? All I'm getting induced to is a catatonic state somewhere between sleep and boredom. 1000 yard stare. This is just great, some total stranger, who is even less connected to me than our "managers" is going to tell me what I should think. Never, neverland here I come.

  5. 1999 - During protests by the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 1547 against a non-unionized workforce getting a contract, picketers threatened and assaulted workers, spat at them, sabotaged equipment, and shot guns near workers. The Alaska Supreme Court ruled that the union had engaged in "ongoing acts of intimidation, violence, destruction of property".

  6. 2008-to the present. AnheuserBuschInbev has laid off approximately 11,000 employees to date with more to come. Systematically raped an iconic American company. All in the name of making an already rich group of Belgian and Brazilian owners richer off the American worker. They have engaged in the willful destruction of Anheuser Busch to line the pockets of a few. Through intimidation and destruction of assets. Alaska 11 years ago is a long way off from the here and now. Get your self a new set of kneepads. You're gonna need them.

  7. Sam we had a team member today say his cousin works at Ball the comment made was a employee got fired because he came back from vacation one day late is this true or was there other issues for it to get that far?He also stated that the people at Ball are not happy with the union.
Please shed some light on this. Also someone stated that Ibew needs money because they are broke and you will say anything to us to get MCC ?I know we came to you but this is important and we need it cleared up.

  8. Sam, whaddya think?

Rumors are flying like around the plant like flies above a manure pile.

Can we send 'em your way to confirm / deny / clarify?

    One of today's many rumors:

A Ball employee was fired because he came back one day from late vacation, and the IBEW approved of this action.

    My thoughts:

Perhaps this was part of the contract ....

Perhaps the employee had tardiness issues ....

Perhaps there were other issues at hand ....

    Perhaps it never happened .....

Can you put this one to bed?

PS: We need closure on the Union vote. Dan's looking pretty rough. Personally, I like Dan. Professionally he leaves a bit to be desired.
He's starting to look like on of the hourly workers subjected to long hours, rotating shifts, and under the gun in poor working conditions.

    He needs a vacation.

When we win, I think everyone will be happy that it's over.

Sam, thanks for your hard work.

  9. Dan needs a surge protector. That way his mouth would be buffered from surprise spikes in his brain. Stay strong and vote yes.

  10. "Although it is true that only about 20 percent of American workers are in unions, that 20 percent sets the standards across the board in salaries, benefits and working conditions. If you are making a decent salary in a non-union company, you owe that to the unions. One thing that corporations do not do is give out money out of the goodness of their hearts." Molly Ivins

Hey all you great people at mcc. We have all been following this blog from everywhere. By the way you all can call me Bill Shatner. Remember its not always good to be alone in this world or another. Remember the episode of Star Trek when I had to fight the Gorgon on another planet because he was trying to destroy me. They shut my communicator down and I couldn't contact my friends on the Enterprise. Well thank god I found that bamboo tube and those Diamond crystals and was able to blast the Gorgon through the chest and defeat him. Well being alone almost cost me. But when your union strong you are never alone because there is always someone there to protect you.
And to Ken the negotiator i am the true negotiator and always remember that. GO UNION....

  14. 2:52PM - About the Alaska comment:

....I am trying to figure out what that issue in Canada has to do with me or IBEW Local 363 here in New York. Guide me a little.

I'm hoping you CAN explain that seeing that they are in an entirely different nation and probably located in the mountains someplace.

INBEV EMPLOYEES IN EUROPE TOOK THEIR MANAGERS HOSTAGE....DOES THAT REFLECT AT ALL IN ANY WAY ON THE INBEV EMPLOYEES HERE IN NEWBURGH?

Of course not, there is no connection - same issue.

Actually, it is so obvious - that this is really just an attempt to tarnish Local 363 and that is obviously a very difficult thing to do if you have to try to connect us somehow to somebody in Alaska in 1999...lol

    ReplyDelete
  15. King Cobra and 6:43PM - In regard to the Ball person, I have called Tony R. The shop steward and I have asked him to call me and let me know if he recognizes this as an issue that actually occurred.

THERE ARE SOOOOO MANY LIES TOLD DAILY, YA' KNOW.

When Tony gets back to me we will have the answer. I would BET that this employee not only had serious attendance issues but that he ventured his way right to the end of the written warning system with that "missed day" and he put himself in the envious position of not having a defense to his actions.

Employees who travel through every step of the disciplinary system ultimately do find there is an end to their actions at that point - that is what gives the union the credibility to represent the employees who follow the rules and not abuse the system.

Funny, wasn't it last months rumor that the union protects the lazy and abusive employees even when they are wrong? lol

Next non-issue please....keep em coming until August 27/28 Dan

....just notice that there is ALWAYS a logical and thouroughly explained answer from IBEW Local 363.

STAY STRONG, STAY SOLID, LISTEN AND BE POLITE, AND JUST VOTE FOR IBEW LOCAL 363 ON AUGUST 27/28

  16. Did I understand Dan correctly? Did he say that unionizing is an expense to the company and it will have an effect on the company's willingness to bargain. Did that mean that Dan is going to punish us if we unionize? Did anyone else hear that?

I am not scared. I am voting yes. Even if its the unions voice .... it's better than what we have now .... which is no voice.

  17. KING COBRA AND 6;43PM -

Here is the scoop on the unnamed employee:

    Sleeping in the warehouse.

    Sleeping in truck.

    No call / No show

No telephone response to shop steward or company
when they tried to reach out to find out WHERE HE WAS.

No response to shop steward who filed a grievance on his behalf.

No show at his OWN grievance meeting

    Terminated

NOTHING TO DO WITH VACATION - ALL TO DO WITH NOT FOLLOWING THROUGH BY THE PERSON WHO HAD THE PROBLEM TO BEGIN WITH.

Ask Dan to spread something better than these. Too easy Dan.

    ReplyDelete
  18. 8:48PM - Dan is mistaken - the union is a savings to te company. You have happier and more productive employees when they have a written contract. The employees work better when they know there is a fair mechanism to resolve ANY issue they have at work. They don't worry so much about getting screwed.

But just to play with Dan - what exactly are those expenses Dan?

Explain that in a little detail. Since we have not met and there are NO PROPOSALS ye that I know of - so I know you don't know of any - what exactly would those expenses be Danny??

Dan - if you really are this "off", I am going to give you such an education in life, dealing with people, working with the union and mostly, and my favorite - making sure YOU DON"T LIE TO OR ABUSE MY PEOPLE........EVER.

    come onnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn August 28

  19. Thanks for clearing the "Firing at Ball" up, Sam.

After many years in management, it sounded like there were facts missing.

I'm a "TRUST AND VERIFY" kinda guy.

If it walks like a duck, and quacks likes a duck .... well, we all know the rest.

If the story sounds incomplete, the story is more than likely, incomplete. The whole story needs to be revealed.

    Hmmm, Eight-Hundred-Somolias to play.

    FALSE!

An innocent fired at Ball, gee, he was only a little late.

    FALSE!

    Thanks Sam.

Let's take each one of these stories, and determine their veracity.

Let the truth be the winnow that separates the falsehoods from the facts.

Stay strong, stay united, confirm the facts, and note the lies committed by omission and commission.

Yesterday, today, and tomorrow, in my opinion, the only person that has stepped up to the plate and told us the truth .....

    Is Sam.
