Worth Repeating - Carlos Brito Explains About Negotiating and Having A "Fair Deal" In His Own Words

Message To Carlos Brito - The people in MCC Newburgh want a fair deal and a written contract too. We are no different then you. YOU NEGOTIATED A WRITTEN CONTRACT WITH BUSCH. YOU WROTE DISCUSSED, BARGAINED, AGREED AND THEN YOU BOTH PUT IT ALL IN WRITING AND SIGNED IT. THAT IS WHAT THE AGREEMENT IS ALL ABOUT - YOU BOTH MET AND AGREED ON WHAT SHOULD HAPPEN. YOU SEEM VERY PROUD OF DOING THAT WITH AB - NOW WE WANT YOU TO DO IT WITH US.

Here's Carlos again. Let us look AND LISTEN CLOSELY at how he describes HOW INBEV AND AB WORKED OUT THEIR RELATIONSHIP AT THE BARGAINING TABLE.

He proudly speaks of "coming to the table" and bargaining fairly, "reaching an agreement" or "an agreed deal in a friendly fashion", "entering into negotiations", he acknowledges that and says "working together we can do more". He says "not at all" to any changes to employees. He talks about "having a game plan", "working hard" to "build this great company together", of "rolling up our sleeves" and "working together as a team" and the ultimate - to "make our dream come true".

IT SEEMS THAT CARLOS BRITO is in full agreement with IBEW Local 363 on all of the above. We believe the SAME THING SHOULD APPLY TO THE NEWBURGH PLANT WORKERS. WE JUST WANT ALL OF THAT TALKING, SITTING AND BARGAINING TO ALSO BE DONE FOR THEIR BENEFIT - SO THEY CAN FEEL THAT THEY ARE REALLY PART OF THIS NEW COMPANY.

THE WORKERS AT THE NEWBURGH PLANT NEED A CONTRACT TOO - JUST LIKE THE CONTRACTS INBEV SIGNS EVERYDAY FOR EVERYTHING ELSE THEY DO.

Here's Carlos - unplugged AND for your listening pleasure

00:11 First, let me say we are very happy we reached AN AGREEMENT with AB.

00:59 - TOGETHER we can do so much more than seperately.

1:07 - When we entered into NEGOTIATION......

1:20 - Our ultimate objective was to REACH AN AGREED DEAL IN A FRIENDLY FASHION.

1:37 - Will you have to make changes to any committments made to employees? NOT AT ALL.

3:06 - WE HAD MEETINGS THESE PAST FEW DAYS and YOU CAN FEEL that we are NOW IN THE MODE TO BUILD THIS GREAT COMPANY TOGETHER.

THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH ANY OF THESE WORDS THAT CARLOS IS SAYING. THEY ALL MAKE SENSE. IT ALSO MAKES SENSE IN REGARD TO US IN NEWBURGH. WE WANT THAT SAME OPPORTUNITY TO HAVE SOME INPUT IN DRAWING UP THE PLAN, THE RULESAND ULTIMATELY, THE CONTRACT.

The employees here deserve to KNOW WHERE THEY STAND and to not have to walk on eggshells every working day of their life.

On August 27 and August 28 we will begin OUR DREAM for our future AND OUR CONTRACT with AB Inbev.

  4. Carlos that contract stuff works both ways. We want what we have down in writing just like you did with AB. It is nice to watch you here talking about agreements and contracts and friendly negotiations. Now sign one more contract in regard to this aquisition of AB - OUR CONTRACT.

  5. How often have you heard it said, 'I can't afford the fees!
No, I don't need the union and they don't need me.
But when the chips are down, they're the first to complain.
When you don't join the union, you play the bosses' game!

    Chorus
For when you stand by the union, the union stands by you,
When we all band together we can stand straight and true,
If he tries to stand alone, then a worker's sure to fail,
But if he stands by the union, the union shall prevail!

Our fathers learned this lesson well, so many years ago,
That workers must be ready to trade blow for blow,
For when it comes to the crunch, in the factory or mine,
All gains must be won by the strike and picket line.

We'll fight for shorter hours, for a Health and Safety Bill,
An end to conditions that injure and kill,
A future for our kids and fair taxes as well,
And them that don't like it, well they can go to hell!

  7. I cant believe we r loosing a tagger because we r getting new strappers. Did Warren think of that from the smoke deck?? They have no clue what goes on back there, new strappers aren't going to give them enough time. Maybe if we didn't have these piece of crap AGV's that r constantly needing attention and people to pick up the pallets they drop every day. Anyone have a count on that, im sure they have dropped in the high hundreds if not thousands of pallets.

These people need to do the job they think they can get rid of, not just stand back there for 10 min and say yes we can. Better yet try it out for your self for one full day, someone will follow you and make sure you do it right. show some respect and try it Warren!! you will get the most respect you have ever received if you did this.

  8. AAAHHHHHHH....The true virus of this plant has finally surfaced. Warren you are a virus to our plant. From the day you ratted out your sick partner till now. Explain that to the people that haven't been here long enough to know. The remaining constant of our decline in Newburgh has been YOU. You alone is good enough to vote YES IBEW. No other choice makes sense.

  9. True, remember Pork Chop? Warren had him fired for 1 little mistake. Does he not think how it hurt his family??? WARREN if we all fired YOU for mismanagement you would of been gone and Pork Chop would maybe still be here. Maybe thats why you are hiding now. Dan does not want you putting more gas on what he thinks is a problem. The IBEW is not the problem. Look a little closer Dan,like down the hall and in the MIRROR.
